Terms of Service

Free software, no warranty. Bug reports via GitHub Issues.

Last updated: 2026-06-11

Peeknook is a free macOS app published by Glendon Chin. Source code is Apache 2.0. By downloading or using the signed app, you agree to these Terms.

The software

Peeknook is local-first AI for macOS. It captures screenshots only when you trigger capture (default ⌘⇧P) and sends them to inference you configure: by default Ollama on your Mac.

Peeknook does not bundle Ollama or model weights. You install those separately.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for macOS permissions you grant, content visible in captures, and third-party software (Ollama, models, optional remote servers). Optional features that send data off-device are described in the Privacy Policy.

Do not use Peeknook to surveil others or capture content without authorization.

No warranty

PEEKNOOK IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. AI outputs may be wrong. Verify important information yourself.

Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF PEEKNOOK. PEEKNOOK IS FREE; OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS USD $0.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The date above changes when we do.
